History was made at Roots Restaurant, Umuahia as the new Executives of the Niger Delta Students Union Government, Abia State Chapter, were officially inaugurated by the union State President and his Executives.
Giving his charge to the new Excos, the National President of Niger Delta Students Union Government (NIDSUG), Comrade Maaloo Dgreat encouraged the State Executives to work in unity in order to achieve greater things as the association is out to make sure that the students of her region get what is due for them with the collaboration of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC. He later congratulated the New Excos and expressed his happiness on the establishment of this State administration and promised to carry them along even in the National Level. He further used the opportunity to urge them to please work with the Governor of Abia state Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who has showed passion in the lives of the students to the extent of giving out palliatives to the students community and as well identify with the ASOPADEC management.
Hon. Savior Imeabe the Former SA Media & Publicity to the immediate past MD NDDC. Counseled the Executives on how important the union is, especially as a youth oriented organization. He told the Executives that when the youths are built properly, the nation is being built also, but when the youths are destroyed, so also is the nation destroyed. He made it clear that every portfolio is very relevant and should be taken serious as such.
Hon. Comr. Anthony Tabu Esq. commended the Executive members to be a serving leader with avoidance of competition within itself and with teamwork as the progress in the union. He advised the executives to prioritize the welfare of the Niger Delta Students in Abia State.
Hon. Jude Ezeibe Onyekachi the NIDSUG National Pioneering Stakeholder from Abia State. Extended his gladness on the inauguration of the Chapter Executives and urged the Excos to make sure that NIDSUG Abia State attains a great height of excellence in their administration.
Earlier in his speech, The Chairman Board Of Trustees Hon. Christian Nkumah who was the former coordinator of this association, advised the executive members to work in unity with the coordinator and also to take the union as their beloved organization, letting them know that the Aluta struggle is not an easy Struggle because NIDSUG is a delicate and powerful union which many aspires to be part of. He went ahead to promise the Executives of his support and encouragement in any way possible to make the association a great and mighty one.
On this note he thanked the stakeholders of NIDSUG for their overwhelming encouragement and selfless services to the Union and prayed God to keep union great as the go on in seeing to the progress of NIDSUG, even in Abia State.
Highlights of the event was the oath of office taken by the Executives of the Niger Delta Students Union Government Abia State Chapter Executives and as well handing over of their certificate of office and some important documents to function as the Executives of NIDSUG Abia State Chapter Executives.
During his acceptance speech, the Coordinator of Niger Delta Students Union Government, Abia state chapter, Comrade Ogbonnaya Izuchukwu , expressed readiness of his administration to work hand in hand with the state government and the National body of the association in making sure that the NIDSUG Abia State chapter never fails. He promised to make the welfare of the Abia State students w an utmost priority to him and his administration and to make sure that all the Niger Delta Students studying in Abia state gets all that is due for them and also to accommodate them in his administration and carry them along.
To this end he thanked God for His mercies, and thanked all that were present during the ceremony.
The Secretary General of NIDSUG Abia state Chapter, Comrade Helen Nnenna Onwuka, gave the closing remarks as she thanked both the distinguished guests, National President and his Executives, Notable Stakeholders, Elder Statesmen, Patrons; Pastor Izuchukwu Jackson and Hon. Chinedu Nwogu and Board of trustee members for coming to identify with them and pray to God to grant them journey mercies back home.
