Brazilian football star Ronaldinho has been arrested in Paraguay for allegedly having a fake passport.

According to the viral report, the passports were reportedly found in their hotel room which had the duo’s personal information listed with their nationality as Paraguayan.

Ronaldinho who won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002 was detained at the Resort Yacht & Golf Club Paraguayo along with his brother Roberto on Wednesday night, the Ministry of Interior of Paraguay said as they were also investigated.

He is without a Brazilian passport because of an environmental fine he received in 2018.

He and his brother were convicted of illegally building a fishing trap in Brazil without proper licensing.

The duo failed to pay a £6.5 million fine and were prevented from leaving the country by Brazil’s Superior Court of Justice.

At the moment, he is still with the law enforcers as they investigate the matter.
